Capital Region International Airport is the commercial airport for Michigan's state capital, about 5 km northwest of downtown Lansing. The first planes landed on the site on 1 May 1926, the field was dedicated in July 1928, and scheduled passenger service began on 1 September 1929. It was known as Lansing Capital City Airport until 2008, when it took its present name after gaining Port of Entry status for international customs clearance.

The Capital Region Airport Authority, created in 1970, runs the airport. The same authority also operates Mason Jewett Airport and Port Lansing. The passenger terminal dates from 1959 and covers about 161,500 square feet over four floors, with nine gates, six of them with jetways.

Three runways serve the field. The longest, 10R/28L, is 8,506 ft; runway 6/24 is 5,003 ft and 10L/28R is 3,601 ft. The airport handled 221,272 passengers in 2025, about 3% more than in 2024, and 40,304 aircraft operations. Scheduled service links Lansing to hubs at Detroit, Chicago O'Hare and Washington National, with Breeze Airways flying to Florida.
