Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport serves the coastal Georgia and Lowcountry South Carolina region from a location roughly 13 km northwest of Savannah's Historic District. Opened in its current terminal in 1994, the airport has grown to handle over 4.1 million passengers annually — a 37% increase over pre-pandemic levels — making it one of the fastest-growing commercial airports in the Southeast.

The airport operates from a single terminal with 15 gates, recently expanded to 19, served by nine major carriers including Delta, American, United, Southwest, and JetBlue. Delta holds the largest market share. The airport is owned by the City of Savannah and managed by the Savannah Airport Commission.

The facility is compact by design, with gate-to-gate walking times under 15 minutes and two TSA security checkpoints. It was voted the number one airport in the United States by Condé Nast Traveler readers in 2025.
