Northeast Florida Regional Airport guide

St. Augustine Airport sits about four miles north of the historic center of St. Augustine, in St. Johns County. It carried the name Northeast Florida Regional Airport from 2010, and its IATA code is UST. The St. Augustine - St. Johns County Airport Authority owns and manages the field.

The airport is mainly a general aviation field. Of the 116,045 aircraft operations in the year ending September 30, 2020, about 93 percent were general aviation, 5 percent air taxi and 2 percent military. Scheduled airline traffic made up less than 1 percent. The field had 228 based aircraft that year. Frontier Airlines and Via Air flew scheduled routes from here between 2014 and 2018, and no scheduled airline is listed today.

The longest runway, 13/31, measures 8,001 feet. Two shorter runways, 06/24 and 02/20, are 2,701 and 2,609 feet, and the airport also has three seaplane lanes. A 23,305-square-foot terminal opened in 2016 with four gates and car rental counters. The site has a long industrial history: Northrop Grumman builds the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye here, on ground first bought by the city in 1933 for a public airport.
