Orlando Sanford International Airport is located in Sanford, Florida, about 43 kilometres northeast of downtown Orlando. It serves as a secondary commercial airport for the Greater Orlando region, offering an alternative to the larger Orlando International Airport (MCO). The airport sits within Seminole County and is owned and operated by the Sanford Airport Authority, with day-to-day operations managed by Airports Worldwide, Inc.

The airport was a U.S. Navy Master Jet Base from 1942 until 1969, when civilian control was transferred to the City of Sanford. A new passenger terminal capable of handling jet airliners was built in the mid-1990s, opening SFB to charter and low-cost carriers. Allegiant Air has operated here since 2008 and treats Sanford as a focus city, making it the dominant carrier at the airport. The airport recorded approximately 2.9 million passengers in 2024.

SFB has four runways, with the primary commercial runway (9L/27R) stretching 11,002 feet. It handles both domestic and international flights, including seasonal transatlantic charter services. The airport's compact layout and proximity to I-4 and the Central Florida Expressway make it a practical option for travellers arriving from the north and east of the region.
