Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport sits on the Manatee-Sarasota county line, about 6 km north of downtown Sarasota and 14 km south of Bradenton. The airport is owned and operated by the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority and has grown substantially over the past decade, expanding from 12 nonstop destinations in 2018 to more than 60 by 2025.

The airport handles all commercial operations through a single terminal with two concourses. Concourse A, which opened in January 2025 as part of a $115 million expansion, is dedicated entirely to Allegiant Air. Concourse B serves all other carriers with 13 gates and jet bridge access. A new observation deck outside the terminal opened in March 2025.

SRQ recorded 4,514,781 passengers in 2025, a record year for the airport. President George W. Bush departed from SRQ on September 11, 2001, after being notified of the attacks while visiting an elementary school in nearby Sarasota.
