Melbourne Orlando International Airport Guide
Melbourne Orlando International Airport serves Florida's Space Coast from Melbourne, in Brevard County, about 105 km southeast of Orlando. The City of Melbourne acquired the land for the airport in 1933, and the field later operated as Naval Air Station Melbourne during World War II. The Melbourne Airport Authority was created in 1967 to run it. The airport has carried several names, including Melbourne Regional Airport and Orlando Melbourne International Airport, and took its present name in May 2021.
Passenger traffic reached 663,919 in 2025, down 7.3% from the record 747,691 passengers in 2023. Allegiant Air, American Eagle, Delta Connection and Sun Country Airlines provide scheduled service, mostly to leisure and connecting destinations. TUI Airways has also operated international flights from the airport.
The airport has three asphalt runways. The longest, 09R/27L, is 10,181 feet (3,103 m) and handles large jets. The airport also records about 162,800 aircraft operations a year, a large share of them general aviation and flight training. A terminal renovation and expansion added roughly 86,000 square feet and three gates to the existing six domestic gates and one international gate.
