Orlando International Airport Guide
Orlando International Airport sits 10 km southeast of downtown Orlando and serves the greater Central Florida region, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and the Space Coast. Its IATA code MCO derives from McCoy Air Force Base, the military installation that occupied the site until its closure in 1974.
The airport is operated by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. The North Terminal complex houses Terminals A and B, which are connected to four remote airside concourses by automated people movers. Terminal C opened in September 2022 as a dedicated facility for international services and JetBlue, featuring dedicated customs and immigration processing. Together the terminals offer about 139 gates.
With 57.7 million passengers handled in 2025, MCO is Florida's busiest airport and ranks among the busiest in the United States. Four parallel runways support more than 380,000 aircraft movements per year, with 386,904 recorded in 2025.
