Key West International Airport sits on the southeast side of Key West island, about 3 km east of the main commercial center. It is the southernmost commercial airport in the continental United States and the only scheduled air gateway to the lower Florida Keys. Monroe County owns and runs it.

Aviation in Key West dates to 1913, and Pan American Airways began scheduled flights from the site in 1928. Monroe County received title to the field in 1953 and the airport took its international name around then. In 2025 it handled about 1.5 million passengers.

The airport has one runway, 09/27, at 5,076 ft (1,547 m). The length limits it to aircraft up to the Airbus A319 and Boeing 737-700. A single terminal complex holds an eight-gate concourse with jet bridges, which opened on 14 April 2025. Service comes mainly from American, Delta, United, JetBlue and low-cost carriers such as Allegiant, Avelo and Breeze, with FedEx Feeder flying cargo.
