Daytona Beach International Airport sits about 5 km southwest of downtown Daytona Beach, next to Daytona International Speedway and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The airport occupies roughly 1,800 acres. It has served the area from its present site since 1930, when the city moved its airport there from Bethune Point on the Halifax River. The US Navy used the field for pilot training during World War II. Volusia County took over management from the city in 1969, and the airport gained its international name in 1992 with a new international terminal.

Passenger traffic reached 772,170 in calendar year 2025, the highest total since 1997. Commercial service comes from American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Avelo Airlines and Breeze Airways. Demand peaks around major racing events at the Speedway, including the Daytona 500 in February.

The airport also handles heavy general aviation and flight-training traffic, driven by the university's flight program. Wikipedia lists 332,044 aircraft operations for 2025, most of them non-airline. The longest runway, 07L/25R, measures 10,500 feet. The airport has six passenger gates on a single airside concourse. Volusia County owns and operates the airport.
