Wageningen Airstrip guide

Wageningen Airstrip (ICAO SMWA) lies in the Nickerie District of western Suriname, about 8 km north of the town of Wageningen. It sits 6 feet above sea level in the coastal rice-growing country.

Luchtvaartdienst Suriname, the national aviation service, operates the field. It has a single runway, 09/27, 950 m (3,117 ft) long with an asphalt and grass surface. The field has no scheduled airline service listed in the sources used here.

The strip is mainly an agricultural base. Crop-dusting operators use it to treat the surrounding rice fields, and Surinam Sky Farmers is based there. Charter flights to Zorg en Hoop Airport in Paramaribo are also listed, but those listings are not confirmed by a primary source.
