Røst Airport Guide
Røst Airport sits on the northern edge of Røstlandet, the main island of Røst municipality in the Lofoten archipelago of Nordland county. The island group lies in the Norwegian Sea beyond the main Lofoten chain, and the airport is just north of the village. There is no road link to the mainland.
The airport opened on 1 June 1986. Widerøe flies it under a public service obligation contract with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, using Dash 8-100 aircraft on routes to Bodø and Leknes. The Dash 8-100 is the largest aircraft the airport can take. The tower is remotely controlled from Bodø.
The single asphalt runway, 03/21, measures 880 by 30 metres. The airport handled 11,441 passengers in 2025, down 11.7 percent on 2024. The terminal can process about 40 passengers an hour. Free parking is available for 20 vehicles, and taxis can be prebooked.
