Puerto Vallarta International Airport guide

Puerto Vallarta International Airport, also known as Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, sits inside the Puerto Vallarta urban area on Mexico's Pacific coast, about one kilometre north of Marina Vallarta. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico operates it. The airport handled 6,947,700 passengers in 2025, up 2.1% from 6,803,500 in 2024, and ranks fifth in Mexico for international passenger traffic.

A single 3,100-metre asphalt runway, designated 04/22, serves the field and is rated for about 40 operations an hour. The commercial apron has 20 positions, 11 with contact gates and 9 remote. Around 22 airlines fly 52 destinations, 14 domestic and 38 international. Volaris keeps a base here, and American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, Air Canada and WestJet connect the resort region to the United States and Canada.

Domestic and international flights use separate concourses. A general aviation terminal and a fixed-base operator handle private aircraft. Construction of a second terminal began in 2022 to add capacity.
