Guadalajara International Airport guide

Guadalajara International Airport, officially Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport, opened in 1951 and sits in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, southeast of the city it serves. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico operates the field, which carried 18.7 million passengers in 2025, making it Mexico's third-busiest airport after Mexico City and Cancún. It also ranks as the country's third-busiest for air cargo, after Mexico City's AICM and Felipe Ángeles airports.

Volaris and Viva Aerobus each run a hub here, while Aeroméxico treats Guadalajara as a focus city and operates the airport's only nonstop route to Europe, a year-round service to Madrid. American Airlines, United Airlines and Alaska Airlines connect the airport to hubs across the United States, and international passenger numbers grew faster than domestic traffic in 2024.

Two asphalt runways handle current traffic; a third, shorter runway has been decommissioned. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico is building a second passenger terminal to add capacity, part of a wider expansion that also enlarged the airport's cargo facilities to handle roughly 350,000 tonnes a year.
