Morondava Airport guide

Morondava Airport (IATA MOQ, ICAO FMMV) serves the coastal town of Morondava in the Menabe Region of western Madagascar. It sits at about 9 metres above sea level, just east of the town, on the flat plain behind the Mozambique Channel coast.

The airfield has two asphalt runways that cross each other. Runway 10/28 measures about 1,500 metres and runway 14/32 about 1,345 metres. Aéroports de Madagascar (ADEMA) manages the airport. Operating hours are limited and fuel is available only at set times, so charter and private pilots should confirm details before arrival.

Scheduled service is domestic. Madagascar Airlines links Morondava with Antananarivo, and older operator lists also name Air Madagascar and several small charter and helicopter companies. The airport is the usual air gateway for visitors to the Avenue of the Baobabs and the Kirindy forest reserve. Passenger and movement statistics are not published.
