Dezful Airport guide

Dezful Airport (ICAO: OIAD) serves Dezful and the northern part of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran. It sits on the road to Andimeshk, about 10 km from Dezful. Italian engineers built the field for military use during the Pahlavi era. The Iranian Air Force still runs Vahdati Air Base on the same site, and the base saw heavy use in the Iran-Iraq War.

Civil flights began in 2007, when part of the air base land was opened to passengers. Service started with two flights a week to Tehran. The airport is a joint civil and military facility, operated by the Iran Airports Company and the Iranian Air Force.

Scheduled flights are domestic. Tehran Mehrabad is the main route, flown by Iran Air, Karun Airlines, Mahan Air and Qeshm Air. Karun Airlines also links Dezful with Mashhad, and local sources report services to Shiraz. Two parallel asphalt runways, 14R/32L at 3,853 m and 14L/32R at 3,575 m, are long enough for the largest aircraft. The airport publishes no passenger statistics.
