Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport guide

Dehradun Airport (ICAO: VIDN), also called Jolly Grant Airport, is the main air gateway to Uttarakhand's Garhwal region. It sits at Jauligrant, about 25 km from Dehradun by road, and lies close to Rishikesh and Haridwar. Many pilgrims and hill-station travellers use it as the first stop on the way to the Char Dham shrines and the mountains beyond.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 08/26, measuring 2,140 metres. Scheduled commercial flights began on 30 March 2008, after the runway was extended. Airports Authority of India runs the field, which stands at 566 metres above sea level.

The current terminal was built in two phases. The first opened in October 2021 and the second in February 2024. The building covers 42,776 square metres and has 48 check-in counters. It can handle about 4.7 million passengers a year. The airport recorded roughly 1.87 million passengers and 17,437 aircraft movements in the April 2025 to March 2026 fiscal year. The apron holds 20 aircraft of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 class, and the forecourt car park takes about 500 vehicles.
