Moradabad Airport guide

Moradabad Airport sits on National Highway 9 in Uttar Pradesh, roughly halfway between Moradabad and Rampur. It is about 19 km from Moradabad Junction railway station and 15 km from Rampur Junction. The site covers 63.8 hectares at an elevation of 194 m.

The airport was developed under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme and is run by the Airports Authority of India. The terminal was inaugurated on 10 March 2024, and the first scheduled flight, a FlyBig service to Lucknow, ran on 10 August 2024. Monthly traffic then fell from 197 passengers in August 2024 to none in December 2024. The airport recorded 21 passengers and 6 aircraft movements in the April 2025 to March 2026 financial year.

The single asphalt runway, 12/30, is 2,112 m long. There is no Instrument Landing System, so fog and low visibility can delay or divert flights. There is no fuel station on site. The terminal covers about 1,250 square metres, with four check-in counters and seating for 50 passengers. It is designed for about 100 passengers a day. Expansion plans include a longer runway and a larger terminal. Check with the airline before travelling, because scheduled service has been irregular.
