Lengpui Airport guide

Lengpui Airport serves Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, from a site in Mamit district about 32 km north of the city. It is also known as Aizawl Airport. The Government of Mizoram built it, the first airport in India constructed by a state government, and the Airports Authority of India runs it.

The airport sits on a table-top ridge, so pilots fly a precise approach onto its 2,500 metre asphalt runway. A Category I instrument landing system supports operations in low visibility. A single terminal handles all passengers, and it has been under renovation since April 2021.

All services are domestic. Alliance Air flies to Dimapur, Guwahati, Imphal, Kolkata, Silchar and Shillong, and IndiGo connects Aizawl with Agartala, Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata. Traffic peaked at 493,465 passengers in the year to March 2025 before falling 13.1 percent the following year. Mizoram has no railway link to its capital, so the airport carries much of the state's long-distance travel.
