Inisheer Aerodrome guide

Inisheer Aerodrome (ICAO EIIR) sits on Inis Oírr, the smallest and easternmost of the three Aran Islands in Galway Bay, County Galway. It is a small island airstrip, not a commercial hub, and it gives islanders and visitors a short air link to the mainland.

The aerodrome is private and licensed by the Aeronautical Services Department of the Irish Aviation Authority. The Irish AIP lists Galway Aviation Services Ltd of Inverin as the aerodrome operator and Comhar Caomhan Teo as the tourist office contact. It has one bituminous runway, 13/31, about 500 metres by 18 metres. Only small aircraft such as the Britten-Norman Islander use it, and the strip is VFR only with prior permission required.

Aer Arann Islands flies the route from Connemara Airport at Inverin, about 30 minutes' drive west of Galway city. The airline also serves Inishmaan and Inishmore. It reports flights of 8 to 10 minutes and says it runs daily, all year. No passenger figures are published for this airstrip.
