Inishmaan Aerodrome guide

Inishmaan Aerodrome (ICAO EIMN) lies on Inishmaan, the middle island of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, County Galway. It is a small island airstrip, not a commercial hub, and it gives the island's residents and visitors a short air link to the mainland.

The aerodrome is privately operated by the island community cooperative, Comharchumann Inis Meáin, and is licensed by the Aeronautical Services Department of the Irish Aviation Authority. Its elevation is about 4 metres above sea level.

There are two runways. The main strip, 15/33, has a bituminous surface and measures 534 metres. A grass strip, 05/23, runs 265 metres and serves as a second option when the wind suits it. Both are short, so only small aircraft use them.

Aer Arann Islands flies the route from Connemara Airport at Inverin and links the other two Aran Islands, Inisheer and Inishmore. The airline announced in 2018 that it would end its public service obligation contract, and later reports say an agreement kept the service running. Check the airline for current schedules before you travel. No passenger figures are published for this airstrip.
