Dhoho International Airport opened in April 2024 as Indonesia's first privately funded airport. Built by Kediri-based cigarette manufacturer PT Gudang Garam at a cost of Rp10 trillion (approximately US$709 million), it operates under a public-private partnership with a concession period of 30 to 50 years. The airport sits at 116 metres above sea level in Kediri Regency, East Java, about 12 kilometres south of Kediri city centre.
The terminal covers 18,224 square metres with an initial passenger capacity of 1.5 million per year, expandable to 4.5 million in Phase 2 and ultimately 10 million. Its 3,300-metre runway can accommodate wide-body aircraft including the Boeing 777, 787, and Airbus A330 and A350. The airport is managed by InJourney Airports.
Dhoho was designed to reduce pressure on Juanda International Airport in Surabaya and extend air connectivity to the southern parts of East Java, including Blitar and Nganjuk regencies. Super Air Jet operates the Kediri–Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta route three times weekly as of November 2025.
