Muara Bungo Airport guide

Muara Bungo Airport (Bandar Udara Muara Bungo, ICAO WIJB) serves Bungo Regency in the west of Jambi province, Sumatra. It sits in Rimbo Tengah district, roughly 13 to 15 km from the centre of Muara Bungo, a drive of about 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic.

The airport opened on 25 November 2012 and was built by the Bungo Regency government. It has one asphalt runway, 13/31, which is 2,100 m long and 30 m wide and takes aircraft up to the Airbus A320-200. The passenger terminal covers nearly 2,974 square metres, and the airport is run day to day by the Muara Bungo airport management unit (UPBU).

Scheduled flying is thin and has changed over the years. Sriwijaya Air started Jakarta flights in July 2016, and NAM Air later took the route over. Batik Air began daily Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta round trips with 156-seat aircraft on 15 June 2026. Jambi's Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Airport is the nearest alternative for a wider choice of flights.
