North Ronaldsay Airport serves the most northerly island in Orkney, a low, flat island of about 50 residents. The airfield lies on the island's southwest side, around 52 km northeast of Kirkwall. Flying is the quickest way on and off the island, and the airport also handles mail and supplies.

The first scheduled service to the island ran on 11 August 1934. The airfield began as two converted fields and has three runways: 10/28 at 527 m and 03/21 at 331 m, both hard core, and a 304 m grass strip, 14/32. The airport holds a CAA Ordinary Licence and is not licensed for night use.

Loganair flies the scheduled service from Kirkwall, and flights also link the island with Eday, Papa Westray and Sanday. Orkney Islands Council runs the airfield. A new building at the airfield holds a fire crew watch room, a garage for the fire vehicle, a waiting room and toilets.
