Colonsay Airstrip Guide
Colonsay Airport is a small airstrip on the island of Colonsay in the Inner Hebrides, Argyll and Bute. It sits on the west side of the island, about 5.6 km from the ferry village of Scalasaig. Argyll and Bute Council operates it.
The grass airfield received a paved runway, and scheduled services began in 2006. Hebridean Air Services flies the route to Oban on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flight takes about 25 minutes and offers an alternative to the longer ferry crossing from the mainland. Hebridean Air Services also lists Tiree as a destination. Traffic is very light, and Wikipedia records 49 passengers for 2021.
The airfield has a single asphalt runway, 11/29, which measures 501 m. It stands 13 m above sea level.
