Ouessant Airport Guide
Ouessant Airport (ICAO LFEC) is a small public aerodrome on Ushant, the westernmost inhabited island of Finistère in Brittany. It sits about 2 km from the village of Lampaul. Island visitors mostly travel on foot or by bicycle.
The airfield has a single paved runway, 05/23, measuring 833 m by 24 m. Its first landing took place on 30 July 1954, and the first commercial link with Brest-Guipavas followed on 13 July 1955. The commune of Ouessant administers the aerodrome, and its terminal building dates from 1978. It opens on weekdays and Saturday mornings and closes on Sundays and public holidays.
Finist'air flies the only scheduled service, a public service obligation route to Brest. It runs 11 flights a week all year, and the flight takes about 18 minutes. The route carried roughly 3,200 passengers in 2023. The air link matters when rough seas disrupt the ferry crossing from Le Conquet.
