Named after the Galician poet in March 2020, it is the busiest airport in Galicia and the second busiest in northern Spain after Bilbao. The current terminal opened in October 2011 and spans 74,000 sq m with capacity for 4 million passengers annually. The airport handled 3.6 million passengers in 2024.
