Heide-Büsum Airport Guide
Heide-Büsum Airport is a general aviation airfield on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein, in the municipality of Oesterdeichstrich. It sits about 2 m above sea level, close to the Dithmarschen coastline and the Wadden Sea.
The airfield has operated since 1970. It is run by Flugplatz Heide-Büsum GmbH as a Verkehrslandeplatz, a licensed field open to aircraft up to 5.7 tonnes maximum take-off mass, as well as gliders and ultralights. A single paved, lit asphalt runway, 11/29, measures 720 by 23 m. The field sells AVGAS 100LL and Super Plus fuel.
The only scheduled service is run by OFD Ostfriesischer Flugdienst, which flies Britten-Norman Islanders to Heligoland, with up to four flights a day. The site also has a bistro with a terrace and bicycle rental, so visiting pilots and passengers can reach Büsum without a car. There is no commercial airline service beyond the Heligoland link, and no published passenger statistics.
