Juist Airport Guide
Juist Airport (Flugplatz Juist, ICAO EDWJ) is a general aviation airfield in the east of the East Frisian island of Juist in Lower Saxony. It lies about 4 kilometres from the village. The island is car-free, so visitors continue on foot, by bicycle or by e-shuttle.
The airfield has four runways. The main one, 07/25, is 700 metres long and 20 metres wide with a concrete paving stone surface. Three grass runways of 428 to 500 metres supplement it. No fuel is sold on site and there are no hangar spaces. Most landings are under visual flight rules, and aircraft as large as a Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 cannot use the field. The airport recorded 40,328 passengers and 19,828 aircraft movements in 2021.
Scandinavian Air Charter flies scheduled hops from Norden-Norddeich on the mainland in two five-seat Cessna 206 aircraft, a trip of about seven minutes. FLN Frisia Luftverkehr ended its Norddeich service in early 2025. The airfield opened in 1934 and remains in use by private pilots and helicopters.
