Hannover Airport sits in Langenhagen, 11 kilometres north of Hannover city centre in the German state of Lower Saxony. It is Germany's ninth-largest airport by passenger volume, handling 5.2 million passengers in 2024. The airport operates around the clock, though scheduled passenger and cargo traffic between 23:00 and 04:00 is limited.

The airport has three interconnected passenger terminals on the landside, each with its own separate airside area. Schengen and EU flights depart from Terminals A and B, while non-Schengen international flights use Terminal C. Lufthansa, Eurowings, TUIfly, and Turkish Airlines are among the largest carriers. A dedicated general aviation terminal serves private and business aircraft separately.

The Hannover S-Bahn line S5 connects the airport to Hannover Hauptbahnhof in approximately 17 minutes, running every 30 minutes across most of the day. The airport has a direct motorway connection via autobahn A352 and around 14,000 parking spaces on site.
