Both lines run approximately every 20 minutes during the day.

S9 connects Flughafen BER (Terminal 1-2) with the city center and western Berlin, running via Schönefeld (bei Berlin), Adlershof and Schöneweide through central stops including Ostbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße and Berlin Hauptbahnhof before continuing west to Spandau. The full S9 line covers 49.2 km with 30 stations. Service runs approximately every 20 minutes during the day.
S85
S85 connects Flughafen BER (Terminal 1-2) with northeastern Berlin, running via Schönefeld, Adlershof, Schöneweide and Ostkreuz through Prenzlauer Berg and Pankow to Frohnau. The full S85 line covers 45.7 km with 27 stations. Service runs approximately every 20 minutes during the day.
DB Regio Berlin-Brandenburg
DB Regio Berlin-Brandenburg (DB Regio AG, Regio Nordost) operates regional train services connecting Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) with Berlin and Brandenburg. From December 14, 2025, services include the Airport Express (FEX), RB22, RB24, RB32, and RE20 (jointly operated). Trains call at the station beneath Terminal 1-2 and are integrated into the VBB network with barrier-free access.

FEX (Flughafen-Express)
Airport Express (FEX) — fast, direct regional-express service linking Flughafen BER Terminal 1-2 with central Berlin via Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz. Trains run 3 times per hour with accessible entrances and spaces for wheelchairs.
RB22
Regionalbahn RB22 connects Flughafen BER Terminal 1-2 with Königs Wusterhausen and continues westward toward Potsdam (Golm, Potsdam Park Sanssouci, Potsdam Hbf and Potsdam Griebnitzsee). The service runs hourly and provides a direct link between the airport and the Potsdam region.
RB23
Regionalbahn RB23 formerly served Flughafen BER but was rerouted from December 14, 2025. It now operates only on the Potsdam/Golm to Griebnitzsee corridor on weekday peak hours and no longer calls at BER airport.
RB24
Regionalbahn RB24 runs as a single through line from Eberswalde via Bernau, Berlin (Hohenschönhausen, Lichtenberg, Ostkreuz, Schöneweide), Flughafen BER and south to Blankenfelde, Zossen and Wünsdorf-Waldstadt. Service runs hourly.
RB32
Regionalbahn RB32 runs from Oranienburg via Berlin (Hohenschönhausen, Lichtenberg, Ostkreuz, Schöneweide) through Flughafen BER to Ludwigsfelde. The full through route from Oranienburg has been operational since February 2026; service runs hourly.
RE20
Regional Express RE20 connects Berlin Hauptbahnhof with Flughafen BER and continues south to Königs Wusterhausen, Lübben, Lübbenau and some services to Cottbus via Vetschau. Operates hourly from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is jointly operated with DB Regio on behalf of VBB. Added to the timetable from December 14, 2025.
Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)
BVG operates Berlin's municipal surface public-transport network (buses, trams, metro-buses and night services) and provides direct bus connections to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) as part of the VBB integrated network. BVG express and night bus lines link BER with U- and S-bahn interchanges across Berlin, offering frequent, turn-up-and-go surface connections integrated into Berlin's tariff zones.
