Qingyang Xifeng Airport guide

Qingyang Xifeng Airport (ICAO ZLQY) serves Qingyang, a prefecture-level city in eastern Gansu province. It lies in Pengyuan, Xifeng District, about 8 km from the city centre. The airport is often listed as Qingyang Airport; Xifeng is an unofficial addition to the name.

Construction began in 1976 and the airport opened in 1977 with an 1,800-metre runway. It closed in 1993 because the runway had aged and few suitable aircraft were available. A 2003 renovation made it a 3C regional airport, and it reopened on 26 December 2005 with a 2,000-metre runway. It closed again in September 2010 because of its low classification, short runway and limited routes. Flights resumed on 21 November 2012 after an expansion to 4C standard.

Today the airport has one asphalt runway, 14/32, which is 2,600 metres long and 48 metres wide. Traffic has grown steadily: about 488,800 passengers in 2019, roughly 400,400 in 2021 and 607,386 in 2025, when it handled 30,154 aircraft movements and 159.4 tonnes of cargo. Most routes link Qingyang with Lanzhou, the provincial capital, with other flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Urumqi.
