China Railway Guangzhou Group operates the Hainan Eastern Ring high-speed railway, whose Meilan station sits directly beneath Haikou Meilan International Airport's Ground Traffic Center, the first railway station in China built directly under an airport terminal. The line runs the length of Hainan's east coast between Haikou and Sanya, with a shorter Haikou-Meilan commuter service also calling at the airport. Tickets are sold through the national rail booking platform.
