Qionghai Bo'ao Airport guide
Updated 2026-10-08Qionghai Bo'ao International Airport sits in Zhongyuan town on the east coast of Hainan island. It was built to serve the annual Boao Forum for Asia, which meets about 15 km away. Construction began in March 2015, and the airport first opened briefly in March 2016 for forum delegates. It then closed for expansion, and regular commercial flights began on 29 December 2016 with an Air Guilin service from Guilin.
