Jixi Xingkaihu Airport guide

The airport sits in Jidong County, about 18 kilometres from the centre of Jixi in eastern Heilongjiang. It lies close to the Russian border and takes its name from Khanka Lake, known in Chinese as Xingkaihu. It replaced the older Jixi Pingyang Airport, which dated from the 1930s.

Construction began on 15 October 2007 and cost 262 million yuan. The airport opened to the public on 16 October 2009. An instrument landing system was approved in 2011 and entered service on 16 December 2017. A 2013 apron expansion, finished in July 2015, raised the number of stands from two to four. A further expansion began in June 2020 and passed final acceptance in December 2021. It aimed to bring the airport up to a 4C-level regional standard and added six Category C stands.

The airport had 437,702 passengers and 3,278 aircraft movements in 2025. Chengdu Airlines, China Express, China United Airlines, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Loong Air and Shanghai Airlines fly domestic routes to Harbin, Beijing Daxing, Beijing Capital, Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Dalian, Hangzhou and other cities.
