Changhai Dachangshandao Airport guide

Changhai Dachangshandao Airport sits on Dachangshan Island in the Yellow Sea, off the Liaodong Peninsula. It serves Changhai County, the only county-level division of Dalian made up entirely of islands. The county government is on the same island, so the airport is the quickest way on and off for residents, who otherwise rely on ferries to the mainland.

Construction began in November 1988 and the airport opened on 2 February 2008. It has a single concrete runway, designated 17/35, and a small terminal with a ticketing hall and a baggage claim area. Security checks are sometimes carried out on the apron rather than inside the building.

Traffic is light. The airport recorded 2,765 passengers and 535 aircraft movements in 2022. China Flying Dragon Aviation flies one daily service to Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, with an extra flight at peak times such as public holidays. Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport Co., Ltd. operates the airfield.
