Updated 2026-10-13Desierto de Atacama Airport (Aeropuerto Desierto de Atacama, ICAO SCAT) is the regional airport for the Atacama Region of northern Chile. It stands in the desert north of the Copiapó River, about 16 km inland from the Pacific coast and roughly 52 km from Copiapó. It opened in 2005 and replaced the smaller Chamonate Airport near the city.
