N'djili International Airport is the primary gateway to Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It sits roughly 25 km east of the city centre and is the busiest of the DRC's five international airports. The airport handles international long-haul and regional African services, with the Congo River forming the border with the Republic of the Congo just a short distance to the northwest.

The airport opened in 1959 and operated for decades with ageing infrastructure before a major modernisation effort. A new 50,000 m² passenger terminal opened in June 2015, equipped with computerised check-in systems and modern security facilities. It is operated by the Régie des Voies Aériennes (RVA), the state body responsible for all 53 of the DRC's civil airports.

Key international carriers including Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France, and Qatar Airways serve the airport on intercontinental routes. Regional connections link Kinshasa to Lubumbashi, Kisangani, Brazzaville, and other Central and East African cities. A single concrete runway of 4,700 metres supports the current traffic volume of around 773,000 passengers annually.
