Rigolet Airport guide

Rigolet Airport (Transport Canada identifier CCZ2) is a small gravel aerodrome in Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador, adjacent to the community of Rigolet. Rigolet is an Inuit community in the Nunatsiavut region on Hamilton Inlet, with 327 residents at the 2021 census. The field sits at 186 feet above sea level.

The community has no road connection. Residents travel by air, by snowmobile trail in winter, or by the coastal ferry MV Kamutik W from Happy Valley-Goose Bay in the shipping season. The airport is therefore the main year-round link for passengers, mail and medical travel.

The single runway, 11/29, is gravel and measures 2,496 by 75 feet. Runway identification strobe lights and abbreviated visual approach slope indicators (APAPI) mark both ends. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador operates the aerodrome and reports runway conditions to pilots.

The strip handles small turboprop and bush aircraft only. Air Borealis is listed as serving Goose Bay and other coastal Labrador communities. Check current routing and frequency with the airline before travelling.
