Natuashish Airport guide

Natuashish Airport (Transport Canada identifier CNH2) is a small gravel airstrip serving Natuashish, a Mushuau Innu community on the northern Labrador coast. The airstrip lies about 3 km west of the community at 33 feet above sea level. Natuashish had 856 residents at the 2021 census.

The single runway, 12/30, is gravel and measures 2,500 feet (762 m). The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador operates the aerodrome. The strip handles small turboprop aircraft only.

No road reaches Natuashish. People and goods arrive by air or by sea, so the airport is the community's year-round link to the rest of the province. Air Borealis flies from Natuashish to Goose Bay, Hopedale, Makkovik, Nain, Postville and Rigolet. Fog and snow often change flight schedules, so confirm times with the airline before travelling.

The community was founded in 2002 as a planned settlement about 15 km from Davis Inlet, which it replaced, and became a federal reserve in 2003.
