Narrabri Airport Guide
Narrabri Airport sits on Airport Road, about 8 kilometres by road east of the town centre, in the north-west slopes and plains region of New South Wales. It serves Narrabri and the surrounding farming district. The airport carries the IATA code NAA and the ICAO code YNBR.
Link Airways flies to Brisbane, sometimes via Inverell, and the council's airport page also lists direct flights to Sydney and Newcastle. FlyPelican is named alongside Link Airways for flight information and bookings. Charter and light aircraft also use the field.
Narrabri Shire Council owns and operates the airport. It has two runways: sealed runway 18/36, 1,765 by 30 metres and suited to aircraft up to 45,000 kilograms, with low-intensity lighting and PAPI, and grass runway 09/27, 800 metres long and limited to light aircraft. The grass strip is usually closed after 15 to 20 millimetres of rain in 24 hours. The apron holds up to two Fokker 100-sized aircraft, and light aircraft park at its southern end. The council charges a passenger tax on scheduled services and rents terminal counter space to operators, including car hire businesses.
