Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport is Zimbabwe's largest and busiest airport, located 15 kilometres south of Harare's central business district. Originally built as Salisbury Airport and opened on 5 February 1957, it was renamed in November 2017. The airport sits at an elevation of 1,490 metres and has a single runway of 4,725 metres, one of the longest in southern Africa.

A $153 million expansion completed in July 2023 increased annual passenger capacity from 2.5 million to 6 million. The project, funded by China's Export-Import Bank, added a new international terminal building with 16 boarding gates, 7 aerobridges, and self-check-in kiosks. A domestic terminal renovation was also undertaken in 2024.

Air Zimbabwe and Fastjet Zimbabwe use the airport as their base. Long-haul international connectivity is provided by Emirates and Qatar Airways, while regional African carriers including Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir, Kenya Airways, and Airlink link Harare to major hubs across the continent. The airport served approximately 1.5 million passengers in 2024.
