Longana Airport guide

Longana Airport serves the northeast of Ambae, the volcanic island in Vanuatu's Penama Province. The ICAO code is NVSG and the field sits 51 m above sea level. Wikipedia lists a runway of 710 m.

Air Vanuatu flies the scheduled services, to Santo International Airport at Luganville and to Bauerfield International Airport at Port Vila. A 2010 report described a newly tar-sealed runway added to the older grass strips, funded through the Millennium Challenge Fund, to take larger aircraft.

Ambae had 9,856 residents at the 2020 census and has no significant towns. Two other airstrips, Walaha in the southwest and Redcliffe in the south, also take Air Vanuatu flights, so check which strip a booking uses. Saratamata, the provincial centre of Penama Province, is on the island's eastern shore.
