Barinas Airport guide

Barinas Airport, officially Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi Airport (IATA: BNS, ICAO: SVBI), serves Barinas, the capital of Barinas state in the western Venezuelan plains. The airport sits at an elevation of about 203 metres above sea level and is also known locally as Aeropuerto Nacional de Barinas, and it handles only domestic traffic.

Two asphalt runways serve the field. Runway 13/31 is 2,000 metres long and the second, crosswind runway is 1,200 metres long. Scheduled service is domestic only. Conviasa flies to Caracas and Porlamar, and Estelar flies to Caracas.

In January 2022 a resolution of the Ministry of Transport, published in Gaceta Oficial No. 42.293, ordered the immediate transfer of the airport's administration and civil aeronautical infrastructure to the national government through the Empresa Bolivariana de Aeropuertos (BAER). Flight schedules at the airport change often, so travellers should confirm routes with the airline before booking a trip to Barinas.
