Bukhara International Airport guide

Bukhara International Airport (ICAO: UZSB) serves the historic Silk Road city of Bukhara and the surrounding Bukhara Region in western Uzbekistan. It sits about 5 km from the city centre, a taxi ride of roughly 10 minutes, and the field lies at 229 m above sea level.

A single asphalt runway, 01/19, measures 3,000 m by 45 m. One passenger building handles both domestic and international flights. The current terminal was completed in 2011 and replaced a two-storey building from the 1980s. It processes about 400 passengers an hour, which works out to roughly 1 million passengers a year.

Tashkent is the busiest route. Russia is the largest international market, with Moscow flights on Aeroflot, and Turkish Airlines connects the city to Istanbul. Uzbekistan Airports operates the airport for the Government of Uzbekistan.

Construction of a replacement airport began on 31 May 2024 as a public-private partnership. It is designed for 1,200 passengers an hour, and Uzbekistan Airports now targets a launch in early 2027.
