Salt Lake City International Airport Guide
Salt Lake City International Airport sits about 4 miles (6 kilometres) west of downtown Salt Lake City, in the Salt Lake Valley. It is a hub for Delta Air Lines, which carries about 70 percent of its passengers. The airport is owned and operated by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports and has three runways.
A $5.1 billion redevelopment program began in July 2014 and replaces the former facilities with a single terminal and two linear concourses connected by two underground tunnels. Phase 1 opened in 2020, Phase 2 in October 2023 and Phase 3 in October 2024. The final seven gates and six concessions open on 27 October 2026, bringing the airport to 94 aircraft gates.
In 2024 the airport served 28,364,610 passengers, an all-time record and 5.2 percent above 2023. Thirteen airlines serve SLC, with approximately 300 scheduled commercial departures a day to close to 100 cities nonstop, including destinations in Mexico, Canada and Europe.
