San Antonio International Airport Guide
San Antonio International Airport sits 13 km north of downtown San Antonio, Texas. It covers 933 hectares and operates three runways. In 2024 the airport handled 11.1 million passengers — its busiest year on record — ranking it among the top 50 airports in the United States by passenger volume.
The airport is operated by the City of San Antonio through its Aviation Department. Fourteen airlines serve nonstop routes to 45 domestic and international destinations, primarily in the United States and Mexico. Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier by volume. A consolidated rental car facility opened in January 2018 and connects to Terminal B via a sky bridge.
A major Terminal Development Program is underway, with construction of a new Terminal C expected to link the existing terminals and expand gate capacity. The project reflects steady growth in demand driven by San Antonio's expanding population and tourism sector.
