Laredo International Airport sits about three miles northeast of downtown Laredo, in Webb County on the Texas side of the Mexican border. The field stands at 508 feet above sea level. The City of Laredo owns and operates it.

The site began as Laredo Army Airfield during World War II and later served as Laredo Air Force Base through the Cold War. The military left in December 1973. Commercial airline service moved here from the old Laredo Municipal Airport in the summer of 1975, and the passenger terminal dates from 1998.

Three concrete runways serve the field. Runway 18R/36L is 8,743 feet long, 18L/36R is 8,236 feet and 14/32 is 5,927 feet. Scheduled passenger flights link Laredo with Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Las Vegas and Monterrey. The airport handled about 274,000 passengers and 42,000 aircraft operations in 2025. FedEx Express and UPS Airlines fly cargo here, and the airport sometimes takes diverted flights when storms close Dallas or Houston. A statue at the entrance, Among Friends There Are No Borders, was designed by Armando Hinojosa.
