Abilene Regional Airport sits about 3 miles southeast of downtown Abilene, in Taylor County, West Texas. The City of Abilene owns and operates it. The field has been active since November 1953, and a control tower handles traffic.

The airport has two parallel asphalt runways, each about 7,200 feet long and 150 feet wide. A 130-foot control tower opened in January 2012.

The terminal dates from 1968 and has two levels. Airline counters, a restaurant, a gift shop and two departure gates with boarding bridges are upstairs. Baggage carousels and the car rental counters are downstairs. The city has proposed a $70 million expansion in three phases, starting with a larger boarding area and a bigger security checkpoint.

American Eagle, operated by Envoy Air, and United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, provide the scheduled service. Flights run to Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Houston and Phoenix on Embraer 170 and 175 regional jets. The airport handled 196,236 passengers in 2024, up from the year before.
