Erie International Airport sits in Millcreek Township, about 8 km southwest of downtown Erie, on a 450-acre site. The field grew from Griswold Field, a private airfield bought in 1924. The Erie Regional Airport Authority runs it.

The passenger terminal opened in 1958 and has been expanded since. Its first floor covers about 43,200 square feet and has seven gates, four of them with jet bridges. The longest runway, 6/24, is 8,420 feet. An extension of 1,920 feet opened in November 2012.

Scheduled service is limited. American Eagle flies to Charlotte and Chicago O'Hare, and Breeze Airways serves Orlando year-round and Tampa seasonally. United Airlines has announced a return to Chicago O'Hare in October 2027. The airport handled about 130,000 passengers in 2025, up from 93,312 in 2024.
