Massena International Airport, also called Richards Field, lies about 3.7 km east of Massena village, south of New York Route 37. It sits on 752 acres in St. Lawrence County, close to the Canadian border and the St. Lawrence Seaway. The "international" name reflects its role as a U.S. port of entry and its draw on travelers from Ontario and Quebec, not scheduled international flights.
Boutique Air is the only scheduled airline. It flies Pilatus PC-12 turboprops to Boston Logan under the federal Essential Air Service program, and codeshares with United and American. The airport recorded about 5,000 enplanements in 2023, and a 2018 count put annual aircraft operations near 9,200.
Two asphalt runways serve the field: 5/23 at 5,600 feet and 9/27 at 4,000 feet. The one-story terminal has two check-in desks, a single security checkpoint and a small boarding area. Passengers walk to the aircraft across the ramp. Parking is free, and the terminal has no shops or restaurants.
